Director Raj Kumar Gupta has left no stone unturned to give his best for his debut film Aamir as a director, starring television’s chocolate boy Rajeev Khandelwal. The film was entirely shot with hidden cameras at real locations like Bhendi Bazzar, Crawford Market, Jacob Circle, Bandra Masjid and Dharavi in Mumbai.
Raj Kumar wanted a cameraman who could make the narrow streets of the city look their most realistic. He approached internationally acclaimed wildlife cinematographer Alphonse Roy for the film. Alphonse, after hearing the script, readily agreed to be a part of Aamir, which marks his debut in Hindi feature films.
Says Raj Kumar: “I wanted someone who could make Mumbai look as real as possible since we were not shooting on the sets and were shooting the whole film at real locations. Alphonse Roy was just perfect for the kind of look I wanted for my project. I am happy that he agreed to do the film. It was a pleasure working with such a skilled person in my first film.”
