The music is given by Pritam Chakraborty for both the song. The lyrics are given by Sayeed Quadri for the first song and Shabbir Ahmed for the second one. Watch and download both the song promos.
An exclusive interview of celebrity romantic director Aziz Mirza is given below, in which he talks about his movie Kismat Konnection, Shahid-Vidya jodi, in place of Shah Rukh Khan and on believing in destiny.
Why do you do so few films? Chalte Chalte came in 2003...
I am basically a lazy person when it comes to making films. I am pretty laidback otherwise also. I did a lot of serials which I think exhausted me. So I decided that I will make films as and when I feel like. And not only that, there are so many other factors which govern the making of a film. Like availability of actors... even if I am ready the actors are not available.
What excited you about Kismat Konnection that brought you out of hibernation?
Nothing excited me. I was working on some other film when this idea came to me. My daughter Rahila, it was her idea. Then I worked on it a little bit and... I don’t know... I was working on something else. Kismat Konnection was destined to be made and so it got made.
What is Kismat Konnection all about?
It’s not any path-breaking film or anything. You see every film is governed by the idea and determined by the seed. The seed here is kismat. So whatever I could make out of it, I made out of it. Everyone liked my take and I made it. And I think, it’s a fairly decent film.
Do the characters that normally inhibit your world — the struggling youth, the local drunk, the helpful friend — appear in Kismat Konnection?
From the idea I was given, hopefully I have been able to put in all the inputs that I normally put in my film. The moment you see the film, you will find all those elements which you find in a film made by me. That, rest assured. Because even if it’s not my idea, I will put in things that I believe in, naa?
Has the Raju of Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992) changed in 2008?
He is the same guy. Somewhere down the line all my heroes are the same guy.
But the hero has changed. For the first time you have made a film which doesn’t have Shah Rukh Khan in the lead...
Unfortunately this role doesn’t suit Shah Rukh. Shah Rukh is a bit too old for it. It required a much younger guy. Shah Rukh doesn’t fit into the film. If he was 10 or 15 years younger, he would have been ideal for the role.
But was Shahid Kapur able to fill those large shoes of Shah Rukh?
I think he is a tremendous actor and I am very happy with both Shahid and Vidya. Both of them have done a very good job... I am happy with the film because they have performed so well.
The presence of Shah Rukh and Juhi in the film, is that kismat too?
Shah Rukh has given the voiceover and Juhi has done a small cameo role. Destiny does so many things, son, I really don’t know.
So you are actually a believer in destiny?
I don’t fight with it. If you are a kid and you believe in destiny, you are a bloody fool. And if you are my age and you don’t believe in destiny, you are a bloody fool! You know, beta, there have been so many things that have determined what I am and whatever I have achieved. I can’t say I planned it. So many incidents, why they happened to me and not to anybody else, I don’t know... I don’t have the answer.
Will you let destiny decide your next films? Or are you planning something?
I really have no idea... Life is such you can’t tell. Maybe I will make something within the next year or maybe I won’t make another film in the next five years. I really don’t know. I was making the other film. Now that’s got delayed. Why it got delayed, that’s the kismat connection. I can’t help it.
