'Kidnap' by Sanjay Gadhvi, his fifth movie, being produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd., is an action thriller which will feature Sanjay Dutt, Minnisha Lamba, Vidya Malvade, Rahul Dev & Imran Khan in a fast paced adventure. The film is slated for a worldwide release on 2nd October, 2008.
Sanjay Gadhvi is a famous director in Bollywood industry. Tere Liye (2001) was the first film directed by him as an independent director.
Despite the film being a non-starter, Sanjay had the good fortune of gaining the confidence of Aditya Chopra, son of Yash Chopra. He was signed on for an exclusive 3 movie contract by Yashraj Films, the leading production house in the Indian film industry.
He lived up to the faith and confidence put in him by Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra, and went on to direct three successful films in a row for Yashraj Films. There were “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai” (2002) starring Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shergill, Tulip Joshi and Bipasha Basu, “Dhoom” (2004) srarring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol and Rimi Sen and “Dhoom 2” (2006) starring Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Uday Chopra. Each one of these movies was a bigger hit than the previous and they turned out to be highly instrumental in establishing Sanjay Gadhvi as a director who was well on his way to being a filmmaker to watch out for.
