Synopsis :

Devastated when his fiancée Kate (Eva longoria Parker) is killed on their weeding day, Henry (Paul Rudd) reluctantly agrees to consult a psychic named Ashley (Lake Bell) at the urging of his sister Chloe (Lindsay Sloane). Despite his skepticism over her psychic abilities, Henry finds himself falling herd for Ashley, and vice versa. But there is a big snag. Ashley is being haunted by Kate’s ghost, who considers it her heavenly duty to break up Henry and Ashley’s fledgling romance, if it is the last thing she does on this earthly plane…

Ashley's Recipes :
1>“Back From the Dead” Banana Bread

INGREDIENTS

½ cup oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs beaten
3 ripe bananas (mashed)
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
3 tbsp milk
½ tsp vanilla

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350. Beat oil & sugar. Add eggs & banana pulp. Beat well. Add dry ingredients. Add milk & vanilla. Mix well. Pour in greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Cool well.
2>Cherries Jubilee “A La Boom”

INGREDIENTS

1 can pitted black cherries
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. warmed cognac
1 qt. vanilla ice cream

DIRECTIONS

Drain cherries, reserving juice. Mix sugar with cornstarch and add 1 cup of reserved juice, a little at a time. Cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add cherries and pour cognac over the top. Ignite cognac and ladle the sauce over the cherries. Serve over vanilla ice cream.
3>Crabbity Crab Dip

INGREDIENTS

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 small onion, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1 (6 ounce) can crab meat, drained1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 (12 ounce) jar cocktail sauce

DIRECTIONS

In a medium size mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, onion, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, crab meat and hot sauce. Mix well. Spread the mixture into an 8 inch glass pan. Cover the cream cheese mixture with cocktail sauce.

Refrigerate until you are ready to serve.
4>“Funky Chicken” with Bernaise Sauce

INGREDIENTS

6 boneless chicken breasts (skinless)
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup orange juice
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
½ cup olive oil
melted butter
3 cups toasted bread crumbs
1½ tsp freshly ground pepper

DIRECTIONS

Marinate chicken for 2 hours in a mixture of soy sauce, olive oil, orange juice and mustard. Broil for 6 minutes per side. Remove from oven, dip in melted butter, and roll in bread crumbs and pepper mixture. Return to broiler for 2 minutes; watch carefully. Brush with butter and broil for another minute. Serve with Bernaise sauce.

Bernaise Sauce

3 shallots, finely chopped
1 tsp dry tarragon
¼ cup wine vinegar
¼ cup white wine
2 tsp chopped parsley
¼ lb. butter
3 egg yolks
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
dash of Tabasco

Cut the butter into 3 equal parts. Slightly beat egg yolks and add seasonings. Place mixture in glass or ceramic container that is emerged in a bath of hot water. Do not let the water boil. Using a wire whisk, beat in 1/3 of the butter, then the second piece and then the third. In a small pan, combine shallots, wine vinegar, wine, and chopped parsley. Bring to a boil and reduce to a glaze. Add this to the above. Salt to taste.
5>Awesome Osso Buco

INGREDIENTS

2 pounds veal shanks, cut into short lengths
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 large onion, chopped
1 large carrot, chopped
2/3 cup dry white wine
2/3 cup beef stock
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest

DIRECTIONS

Dust the veal shanks with flour. Melt the butter in a large skillet. Add the veal, and cook until browned on the outside. Remove to a bowl, and keep warm. Add two cloves of crushed garlic and onion to the skillet; cook and stir until onion is tender. Return the veal to the pan and mix in the carrot and wine. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add in the tomatoes and beef stock, and season with salt and pepper. Cover, and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours, basting the veal every 15 minutes or so. The meat should be tender, but not falling off the bone.
In a bowl, mix together the parsley, 1 clove of garlic and lemon zest. Mix into the veal just before serving.
6>“A Little Somethin’ Somethin’ On the Side” Salad

(serves 25-30 side salads)

INGREDIENTS

1 head Green Leaf Lettuce
1 head Red Leaf Lettuce
1 head Romaine
1 head Iceburg Lettuce
8 oz shredded mozarella cheese
4 oz shredded parmesan cheese
1 lb crumbled bacon
4 oz sliced roasted almonds
6 oz dried cranberries

Dressing:

Using blender, process together until smooth :

1/2 c chopped red onion
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp dry mustard
1/2 c red wine vinegar
1 c oil (after all other ingredients are blended)
